Meet Joel McLellan, our founder and lead landscaper with over 30 years of experience in the industry.
Joel started his career in the Blue Mountains, where he worked on prestigious properties with high-quality materials. He then moved to the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, where he worked under highly revered industry leaders, including Ben Hargraves and Oliver Sizeland. This experience allowed Joel to refine his skills and deepen his expertise, working to the highest standards in landscaping.
Over the years, Joel has worked across both residential and commercial projects, including multiple multi-million dollar builds for discerning, high-profile clients. His diverse experience taught him to deliver flawless, high-end results under pressure, with a focus on precision, premium finishes, and meeting the highest expectations.
It was in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney that Joel founded The Green Door Landscapes as a sole trader, bringing his extensive knowledge and expertise to high-value residential projects.
In 2014, Joel and his family relocated to the Central Coast, where they fell in love with the beautiful surroundings and relaxed lifestyle. As demand for his work grew, the business continued to expand, and in 2020 Joel incorporated to a company.
With continued growth, Joel’s wife joined the team, bringing over 20 years of experience in business management. Together, they rebranded the business as McLellan Landscapes in July 2025 and have built a team of skilled professionals who are passionate about delivering high-quality finishes and exceptional service to their clients.
